Held annually the 29th September, since 2011; 100 Thousand Poets for Change, was founded by Michael Rothenberg, Director of the Big Bridge Organisation. Based in California, in association with Stanford University. CA. USA.
Like all my international colleagues (there are over 350 of us worldwide).  We work independently as part of a collaborative "Open Source" movement  produce and event in our home-towns and cities as part of a simultaneous global one-day event.
have been producing the Southend-on-Sea contribution to this global event since it's inception for two main reasons:
  1. Support the profiling of Southend-on-Sea as a centre of cultural and creative excellence.
    Which is inclusive and embraces all forms of cultural and creative expressions without barriers. 
  2. Create the opportunity to propel local creative talent onto the international stage.
100 Thousand Creatives'  for Change includes and incorporates: visual arts; spoken word  and poetic expressions with music, dance, film and theatre.
Submissions for each annual event commences in February of each year for the September performance. you would like to be a contributor to the Southend-on-Sea component of 100 Thousand Creatives for Change Event please contact me  and become pat of the Global Creative Change Movement.
